These days, search results default directly to Yahoo!'s own crawler based listings. Relatively few people perform directory and directory drill-down searches. So the value of a Yahoo! listing isn't the amount of traffic it will drive (which is relatively little) but the quality in-pointing link it provides. New sites looking to establish some critical link popularity may find value in a Yahoo! listing. Established sites may not receive the same value for a listing.The cost? A $299 annual recurring fee.

DMOZ (Open Directory)
The Open Directory remains a free, and worthwhile place to list your site. However, you need to approach listing in this directory a little differently. And patience is definitely a virtue! These are some smaller directories that could provide valuable in-bound links to your site. They probably wouldn't bring a lot of traffic but there links might as valuable as links from the big directories.
